My dear friend,
Thank you for taking a few minutes to look on the website of this campaign and I’ll have to ask you to sacrifice some more to read everything. Through your existence you contributed to the changes around you, you wrote history, marked the present and opened new gates for the future.
I’m asking for your help once more. This time to make possible something that we call a wonder.
But where are my manners? I am Mihai Vantu, the president of ACT-Q Romania, a non-profit organization that promotes the rights of the Romanian LGBT community through Culture and Communication.
The liberty of a LGBT person in Romania ends with the first step out of his/her house. We have laws, but they are not applied; we have authorities who accuse us of having different mental diseases or that we refuse to take our medication, and so on. We can not remain passive! It is our right and obligation to try and change this reality. Read here more about why your help is important to us.
We want to establish a LGBT Arts Center in Bucharest, Romania, where artists can express themselves without any limits, a center where there are no prejudices or discrimination, but just art. Through this Center and its activity we can promote our rights. Today this is still a utopia but, with your help, tomorrow, we can manage to make it a reality. That is why I’m asking you to support our cause!
You can help us in several ways by:
- Organizing a local fundraising action to support our cause
- Spreading the word (in media, on Facebook, Twitter, any messenger, by email, to your friends or in your LGBT community)
- Becoming our partner (if you’re a company or representing a media product, you’re more than welcome).

And since every kind gesture like this one must be returned, we’re offering as a Thank You Gift, for FREE, to all our donors that helped us with more than $30, the 2012 ACT-Q Calendar – New Beginnings, the first Romanian Calendar dedicated to homoerotic arts.
The Calendar was done with the great help of eight wonderful photographers around the world that donated their photos for this project: Dylan Rosser, Joe Mazza, Bogdan Stanga, Haikal Noyes, Norm Yip, Mircius, Alex Bego and Petr Kottnauer.
As president of ACT-Q Romania, I am personally thanking you for helping us make this dream come true. I am thanking you for stopping by here and contributing with just a gesture to our cause and, in the end, I’m asking you to leave a message of support for us, the Romanian LGBT community and to all the others that are involved in this amazing campaign.
